Wilbur is an Albatross whose species is one of the largest oceanic seabirds in today's existence. His long narrow wings allows a span of such large feet and great wingspan. This gives Wilbur great capacity to fly to many whereabouts; however, his increasingly large size causes it to be a difficult procedure for when it comes to taking off. Being an Albatross,
he is able to be highly efficient in the air, using dynamic soaring and slope soaring to cover great distances with little exertion.
The feathers he has are all exclusively coloured white with the exception of the tips of his wings. Wilbur's primary flight feathers are of a cadet colour with a slight hint of indigo within. His orange bill is large, strong and sharp-edged, the upper mandible terminating in a large hook. The albatross also possesses two distinctively large webbed feet.
A black helmet is worn on top of his head; although, it is shaped and looks almost in the sense of a cap being worn backwards. A pair of goggles are attached in order to maintain sight while in flight. Unlike his brother Orville who is seen wearing a brown helmet and a purple scarf, Wilbur owns and wears an aqua coloured scarf around his neck. If need be, such as if Wilbur is at work and carrying passengers, an old empty sardine can is lapped and tied around his back to enable the appropriate seating arrangements.
Wilbur tends to be quite the lively personage and is known to have a bright and happy-going personality. When feeling very enthusiastic and eager, he starts to ramble excessively and has the tendency to rapidly switch from one topic to another whilst in conversation. Even so, his content personality is often accompanied by his short-tempered trait.
Determination can also be seen as well as his slight grumpiness; in addition, his eccentric disposition is another common streak that he obtains. Wilbur's firmness of purpose and stubborness has intrigued and encouraged him into putting an effort into doing things his own way. Sometimes it is known that he uses the excuse of being an American citizen to uphold his arguments. Normally his resoluteness is a result from his desire to do good.. even if he may be clumsy during the process.
Wilbur was the albatross who took over management of Albatross Airlines and had recently been in charge of it instead of his brother, who had momentarily left the position beforehand. Because of this, he was able to come into presence and meet the two rescuers, Bernard and Ms. Bianca. At first, he had refused to fly the two mice due to the treacherous snow storm that had been commencing during that present time. However, after being notified and informed about the kidnapping of a boy, Wilbur began to feel pity for the child and had abruptly changed his mind; providing and agreeing into flying the two rescuers to Australia that night.
During the lengthy flight to Australia, the albatross had made connections with an airliner plane which had also been en route to Australia. He had managed to stay asleep in the plane's cargo holder until the flaps below were opened, giving Wilbur permission to make his journey outward and out to an airport. Wilbur had radioed Jake about landing but was then informed to how he was too large of a bird.. and that the runway was not big enough for a bird his size. Nevertheless, Wilbur refused and landed anyway. After having allowed both Bernard and Bianca off, he had offered a helping hand when it came to their luggage. As a drastic result, Wilbur began to experience tremendous pain and was then swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital.
Within the hospital, Wilbur had experienced a horrific period of time after having to be injected by a gun which was contained of mass amounts of fluids. The next day, the bird had awoken with his own head in a vice and inevitably had to listen to the instructions and demands for certain instruments concerning his operation that was to occur soon after. Wilbur took immediate note to what was referred to as an epidermal tissue disrupter which was, in reality, a mechanical power-driven chainsaw. Realising what was bound to ensue, Wilbur began to panic and performed to escape. Landing on his back after failing to break free from confinement, Wilbur's back's condition had effectively become better; giving him an ultimate chance to fly and seek out Bernard and Bianca.
Having no luck with being provided with directions, somehow the albatross had been lucky enough to come across Bernard, who had been hiding several eggs that were the property of Marahute. After having been ordered to sit on the eggs to keep them warm, there had been great refusal on Wilbur's part. However, he had finally been confined to looking after the eggs in the end.
ROLE PLAYING SAMPLE:
In such a vigorous manner, Wilbur brushed to remove any filthy or soiling substance off of him that may have appeared as a result from his supposedly graceful landing which had previously occurred beforehand. With a smug grin that was now clearly shown upon his face, the albatross raised one wing slightly above his eyes in order for protection from the stimulating light. This was due to the fact that the strong rays were emanating brightly from the ever so luminous sun; the heat in the oceanic atmosphere was absolutely immense! Wilbur glanced around the highly gritty beach before taking great note to what he was now presently surrounded by.
"Cowabunga!" The albatross remarked, commenting to himself after gaining a sudden account to the wide range of seagulls that were situated and fixated around in various places; all seemed to appear to be aesthetically female, as well. "Alright, Wilbur." He thought to himself, rubbing his 'hands' together while reassuring his mind with confident words. Subsequently, Wilbur maintained and stood in what should of been a proper posture, but instead, had came to be noticeably rigid as an ultimate consequence. "We can do this."
Proceeding over to one of the gulls in quite an eager pace, Wilbur promptly greeted the other felictously. "Why, it is such an honour to come face to face which such a-" It took a mere second before the albatross commenced with his constant rambling, his own thick New York accent becoming inevitably penetrating. "May I just say.. what can I getcha?! Speaking of which.. maybe we ought to get away from here and.."
Hastily and without any indication of warning in advance, the prideful seagull lifted her beak in the air before flying off and leaving a small huff in response. Many inhabitants that were close by had decided to repeat the following and do the same thing, now leaving Wilbur to his own devices. "Okay, I see how it is.. Y'know, I'm sure I can find better things to do!" murmured Wilbur as he called out to the birds with a loud yet irritated sounding tone, "Yeah, yeah.. I'll just, I'll just- WAAH, OWW!!!"
Beneath one of his large yet figuratively webbed feet had been a tiny vicious crab which had now found way and was currently clamping its claw down firmly on the other's feet. The albatross screeched again, "Ow, Ow! Hey, let go!" Wilbur speediously leaned downwards and reached to grab the dastardly crab; the pain was hardly comprehensible to the bird's own liking. Picking up the creature and bringing the crab up to eye level, Wilbur glared deeply into the other's eyes. "Hey, Bud." The large bird was not at all impressed by the discomfort he was now experiencing within his right foot. "What was that silly ruckus for?!"
